Varonis DatAdvantage Probe transparent and non-intrusive monitoring of data and user activity:

The Varonis DatAdvantage Probe is a non-intrusive probe that transparently collects file system events and Active Directory information to continuously track data usage and user directory structures.

  • File System Data Collection The Varonis DatAdvantage probe is interoperable with standard Information Lifecycle Management/Network Attached Storage environments, including Network Appliance and MSFileServer/Windows 2000/Windows 2003. All probing processes are continuously monitored and terminated immediately in the event any performance degradation is detected, ensuring non-intrusive and completely transparent probing.
  • Active Directory Data Collection The Varonis DatAdvantage probe is interoperable with standard Active Directory/NT domain servers. It collects user, group and directory structure information to maintain an updated organizational tree and security groups.

Varonis DatAdvantage Intelligent Data Usage (IDU) Analysis Engine:

The Varonis DatAdvantage IDU Engine combines advanced machine learning and information modeling to effectively aggregate and correlate events and directory structure information, thereby providing comprehensive data usage analytics and actionable recommendations.

  • Intelligent Data Aggregation: Streamlined and Highly Scaleable Data Event Handling Varonis DatAdvantage intelligent aggregation is based on combining time-step sampling and advanced statistical models to streamline the number of system call events, understand event significance and detect event anomalies. By collapsing system calls into meaningful events, Varonis DatAdvantage enables highly scaleable data usage event aggregation that is capable of handling an unlimited number of events and users, regardless of the number of filers or the complexity of the directory tree.
  • Advanced Bi-Directional Clustering: Smart Mapping of Data-User Similarities for Data Usage Understanding and Accurate Usage Predictions Varonis DatAdvantage performs multi-level user-data correlations to accurately map and understand user-data relations by degree of similarity to reveal the de-facto organizational structure and the effective usage hierarchy of data.

Varonis DatAdvantage Management is a graphical user interface (GUI) that provides a simple, centralized environment for viewing, configuring and editing all aspects of data usage across the organization, including data utilization, data access control recommendations, data ownership, data integrity and ata usage auditing.
